The Monthly Five And Five
October’s Most Loved
Sometimes it’s the jacket that makes your usual jeans and tee feel like a new outfit. Other times, it’s a tip that helps keep makeup off your coat collar and leaves you wondering why you didn’t know about it sooner. This month’s favorites have a little of both!
October’s Five & Five is here: five things you loved most, plus five I’ve been wearing, using, and telling friends about. From an everyday pink lipstick to a packable tray that’s coming on my next trip, here’s what made the list, and why I think each is worth a look.

The Five You LOVED Most
(your most-clicked, most-saved, most-DM’d-about favorites)
For the days when you want a little color but don’t want to think too hard about your lipstick, Sandwash (not to be confused with sandwich) Pink is such a pretty everyday option. It’s a soft pink that makes me feel pulled together without needing a whole makeup look to go with it. So many of you also messaged me saying it was Princess Kate’s wedding lipstick… you gals keep me informed!
If you’re looking for a little extra hydration, the Cloud 9 lip serum is another recent favorite.
Sometimes getting an outfit to feel right starts with what’s underneath it. The Defy made your favorites (again) this month, and you know I’m always happy to have a bra conversation! A good fit can change how your clothes sit, and how you feel in them. Check the brand’s unique sizing guide before ordering to help narrow down your fit.
If you’re shopping at a lower price point, this jelly bra is another option I like that is worth a look.
If your usual jeans and a top combination is feeling a little tired, this is an easy way to change it up. The fringe adds interest without asking you to rethink the whole outfit. Keep your favorite basics underneath and let the cardigan be the fun part… all for under $50! I wear XXL.
Rainy days don’t put the errands on hold, and having comfortable boots ready by the door makes getting out a little easier. These longtime favorites made your favorites this month, and with Buffalo weather doing its thing, I understand why! A practical pair to reach for when you’d rather leave your everyday shoes out of the puddles that actually look chic!
A sizing note: These run true to size, maybe slightly generous and come in sizes 5–12.
If you’ve been curious about lash serums but want an option without prostaglandin analogues, this one is worth a closer look. This one uses peptides, biotin, and panthenol to help condition lashes, a detail that makes it stand out beyond the before and afters. Another useful bonus: the applicator works on both lashes and brows, so you can use it in either area as directed!
THE FIVE I’m Loving
(aka: what’s getting worn, used, and reached for on repeat)
You know I love a matching set, and this blue one has been making getting dressed a little easier lately. Sneakers, a bag, and I’m out the door feeling put together without much thought, which is exactly what I need some days! I also like that I can split up the pieces and wear them with things I already own.
I’m wearing size 1X Regular in both. See more of my Spanx new arrivals and favorites here. Use CARALYN15 on your first order (or when you sign up with a new email) for 15% off plus free shipping!
Walmart got me with this one! This faux leather bomber was part of my recent try-on, and it might be my favorite piece from the whole order. It’s a fun way to switch up the jeans and tee I’m already wearing, and I’m excited to throw it over a matching set, too. Sometimes a different jacket is all it takes to make your usual outfit feel fresh again!
I went with my larger size, XXL, for an oversized look. See more of my recent Walmart finds here.
This is one of those finds I want to immediately text a friend about… how good does it look for under $25?! It gives my everyday outfits a more polished feel, even when I’m keeping things casual. I paired it with these white sneakers, and it’s an easy combination to repeat with jeans and a sweater or a matching set.
Heading to a game or concert? Here’s the stadium-approved bag I shared! Browse my bags and purses list for more options.
Where was this trick when I was getting makeup all over my coat collars?! This setting spray helps keep my makeup on my face and off my clothes, and I wish I’d found it sooner. Especially now that jackets, coats, and higher necklines are back in rotation!
I also shared this shoe spray to help protect the collars themselves. Red bottle: face. White bottle: clothing, shoes, and bags. Follow the directions on each, and check that the fabric spray is suitable for your material before using it on a favorite piece.
A little home for all the things I don’t want to lose in a hotel room! I brought this on my recent trip, and it’s officially staying on my packing list. It packs flat, then snaps together to hold jewelry, keys, and those small things that otherwise end up scattered across the nightstand. Nothing fancy, just one of those little finds that makes traveling a bit easier. It would make a great gift, too!
That’s a Wrap on THIS MONTH’S Five & Five
A little fringe, a good foundation, and a few practical finds pretty much sum up this month’s list! I always enjoy seeing which things catch your eye and hearing what you think once you’ve tried them. Did one of your favorites make the cut, or is there something else you’ve been loving lately? Let me know in the comments.
