What’s In My Bag: Mom Life Meets Travel Essentials

WHAT’S IN MY BAG

If you’ve ever wondered what actually makes it into my bag for travel days or everyday mom life, this one’s for you. Between juggling snacks, wipes, and my own sanity, I’ve learned that strategic packing is key, especially with a toddler in tow (and another baby on the way!). I’ve been carrying my bag for years, and it’s hands down the best travel bag I’ve ever owned. It fits so much, but also comes in a smaller size for lighter days. The quality is incredible; it still looks brand new despite how much I’ve used (and abused) it. If you’re not ready to splurge, I have found several similar options here!

This “What’s In My Bag” is the real deal: part carry-on, part diaper bag, and 100% survival kit. From my go-to electrolyte sticks and mini beauty fixes to a few very mom-specific items, here’s exactly what’s inside, and why it earns a spot.

If you’ve been following along, you’ve probably seen our recent travel adventures on caralynmirand.com lately: from must-haves I never travel without for me and my toddler, to Disney with a toddler, to family beach trips, and everything in between on the travel section of my site. This post rounds up a few essential items that have made this trip so far manageable.

Why These Items Are Lifesavers When Traveling

Powder Touch-Up: My go-to powder for looking pulled together after a long travel day, even when nap time (for me or my toddler) doesn’t go as planned.

Lip Mask: : A quick swipe keeps my lips hydrated and soft, especially on dry, recycled airplane air.

Lip Blur: Lightweight, hydrating, and just the right amount of tint, easy to swipe on without a mirror.

Megababe Thigh Rescue: The best anti-chafe stick. Perfect for dresses, shorts and warm destinations.

Comb: Simple but essential for quick touch-ups between stops.

Hair Flyaway Stick: Smooths everything down fast for a clean bun or ponytail.

Hair Ties: Super comfortable and easy to wear all day, they do leave a little crease, but I don’t mind it for how gentle they are on my hair.

Portable Charger: Because a dead phone while traveling (or while entertaining a toddler) is not an option.

AirPods: A must for catching a quiet moment or listening to something hands-free while on the go.

Electrolyte Sticks: Help me stay hydrated without the sugar crash or strong taste, a staple for long travel days.

Wet Wipes: Forever the MVP, from sticky hands to tray tables and unexpected spills, they do it all.

Hand Sanitizer: Smells good, feels good, and keeps everyone’s hands clean between travel stops.

Thanks for reading!

No matter where we’re headed or how long we’re gone, having these small-but-mighty essentials in my bag makes all the difference. Travel days can get chaotic fast, especially with a toddler in tow, so having a setup that keeps me organized, feeling fresh, and ready for anything is key.

I always love peeking into other people’s bags for new ideas, so let me know your must-haves in the comments. I’m always looking to add to mine!
