Primary Bedroom Reveal

 

Kicking off my first room reveal
in our new home with our

bedroom

Since we moved back in September, getting things together and patiently waiting for orders has been quite a process. We’ve officially got everything we were waiting for, so I’m excited to dig in and share our first room reveal with you in our new home. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen these dark blue walls in many of my videos and pictures.

 
 

We worked closely with Michael P. Design of MichaelPDesign.com and Room for the design of the room to create a serene space. This bedroom receives the most natural light of any room in our home so we knew that the walls would be able to handle such a deep color. I have to give BK credit for it though, I was a little hesitant but he chose Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore and it was a sure winner. Our trim/other woodwork throughout the entire house is Sherwin Williams’ Pure White. We had all the woodwork and walls painted and a ceiling fan installed before moving in. We have split AC units throughout the house, so we felt like a fan was best to help with the airflow.

 

Lulu and Georgia were kind enough to gift us our bed frame and nightstands. They’ve got some really beautiful pieces that we were very happy to incorporate into our space. They also gifted us this stunning bench that didn’t work in our room but I love it so much I’m determined to find a spot for it. Our king mattress is from Allswell, we absolutely love it so much that we got the same one for our guest bedroom. We recently upgraded our bedding to Brooklinen and it’ll take a lot for me switch back to anything else, the Luxe Core sheets are truly such a dream. One of the perks about living in an older home is the details you may not see in newer builds. We have a fireplace in our bedroom which is such an unexpected but fun detail, and perfect for those chilly days and nights. The fireplace was converted to gas when we moved in but we recently had Buffalo Fireplace install new logs and the door. The gold posts were here when we moved in but I found a similar look here.

 

On top of our fireplace, we have a framed picture of our crest that we used on all of our wedding invitations done by Brittany Branson. If you zoom in, you can see a handsome LWH. Highly recommend if you’re newly engaged to check her page out, it’s a special memento we have that we’ll always cherish. I styled it on the mantle with these decor birds and plated gold balls on one side and an orchid plant that hasn’t been doing well so I purchased these orchid stems until the real ones bloom again and they look fantastic.

And speaking of sentimental, BK bought me this framed picture as a wedding day present. It’s of the star constellation on the night of our first date with a lyric to one of our favorite songs… It coincidentally matched the color of the walls perfectly. A similar concept can be found here!

 
 

We have two small closet doors off our bedroom, one was turned into a bathroom by a previous owner and the other Brian uses for his clothes. We were able to fit a curved sofa in the space (purchased through Room Buffalo), which is great to cozy up near the fire or watch TV. We have the Samsung Frame TV frame which has quickly become our favorite thing. When not in use, it looks like artwork hanging on the wall. Below the TV we have this console table, not pictured. Just in front of the TV, we have enough space for a small rounded ottoman that I like to display with a coffee table book. We were also kindly gifted this stunning rug from Rifle Paper Co. Their rugs are truly a showpiece, highly recommend checking them out if you’re in need.

 
 

We brought this dresser from our previous home, similar look here that BK uses for clothing storage and a lamp that was previously loved from my dad. We also received this artwork from Minted from our bedroom at our previous home and knew I wanted it in our bedroom. I’ve also styled it with these candle sticks and I try to keep fresh flowers on there when I remember.
