Where To Shop Headbands and How I Store Them

There’s about to be a headband party…

and you’re invited!

One of my favorite ways to accessorize is a headband; it always was! I have the photo evidence to prove that I’ve been rocking them since a young age. So today, I’m excited to share a few of my favorite places to shop for headbands, how I store and style them, and my secret for making them wearable without the agonizing pinch. Looking at you, fellow large head friends. I’m also excited to share a little glimpse of my closet (full reveal coming soon).

First off, let’s start with a few places
where I like to shop for headbands.

where to

shop

AMAZON

Amazon is a great place to start without fully committing if you're newer to the headband game. You can find really chic and inexpensive options there, as well as ways to store them, but we’ll get to that shortly. You can also check out my Amazon Storefront list here.

BAUBLE BAR

You can find more delicate, specialty, and jewelry-like pieces there from time to time!

DRAPER JAMES

Their prints get me every. single. time. I only have a couple from the brand and they’re incredibly comfortable with a good amount of stretch to the band.

ETSY

There are gorgeous styles on here that are affordable and you’re looking to shop small.

J.CREW

Their headbands fit really well and they’re always coming out with new prints and colors. I especially love when they release Liberty prints too.

LELE SADOUGHI

I’ve never purchased from the brand but have always admired them. The price tag is steep but their pieces are swoon worthy.

THE TINY TASSEL

I just discovered them the other day but I’m already impressed with their styles, I have an order on the way I’ll be sure to review. They’re a smaller, WOC-owned business as well.

how to

store

Until recently, I never had a functional closet space in my adulthood, so I’ve gotten pretty good at creative solutions… headbands included! Out of frustration, one day, I searched for a “headband organizer” and came across this acrylic holder. Not only does it store headbands and other clips in it, but it’s wide enough to stretch out your headbands when you’re not wearing them. They’re stackable (so you can purchase two) and great for vertical storage space, on top of dressers or in a closet.

However, I have a ton of shallow horizontal space in my new closet space (see below) where the walls are slanted, so I searched for something wider. I came across these black velvet holders that make me feel like I’m living in a storefront! Of course, I had to color-code them as best as I could. My only complaint about them is that they’re not as wide as the clear ones mentioned above, so they won’t necessarily stretch out your headbands, but they will display them beautifully.

HOW TO

style

When it comes to styling headbands, don’t overthink it! However, there are a few ways I like to wear them without feeling like a kid. I typically want to have my hair parted (in the center or slightly off) and always like to have a little bit of hair in front of the headband. See the two different ways below! Jewelry-wise, I like to keep it simple with either a stud earring or a smaller, simpler hoop. At the end of the day, you should rock them, however, feels best to you.

I hope you enjoyed this post and gained some inspiration if you’re looking to up your hair accessory game. I’ve fallen in love with headbands over and over again, especially over the past few years, because you can throw one on and instantly feel polished. If there are any places to shop that I didn’t mention, I’d love to hear them below or any other ways that you like to organize or store them. Thank you so much for reading! xx CMK
