MY HALLOWEEN EDIT

Decor, Outfits, Kids’ Finds + More

I like Halloween, but I’m pretty firmly in the festive, not frightening camp. Give me pumpkins, a ghost or two, a great seasonal sweater, and an excuse to make the house feel fun for October. So I did the digging and pulled together the Halloween finds I’d actually bring home, wear, or buy for the kids. There’s decor, entertaining, festive fashion, and plenty for the little ones, plus a few ideas and recipes from my own archives.

And if Halloween is just the beginning of your fall mood, head to my Fall Edits next. I’ve been collecting my favorite fall fashion, home finds, recipes and ideas all season, so there’s plenty more where this came from.

THE HALLOWEEN EDIT

home decor

I don’t need my house to look like Halloween exploded in it, but I do love a few really good seasonal touches. This edit is a mix of playful and polished: patterned pumpkins, glowing ghosts, seasonal stems and smaller details you can work into what you already own. I especially love the ghost hand towels because sometimes the $15 detail is all a room needs.

And the arrangement you saw me make? It’s only two items and nearly impossible to mess up. I shared the full DIY pumpkin arrangement here so you can copy it.

Entertaining

I am very much a buy-the-snacks, make-the-presentation-cute kind of hostess. A pumpkin-shaped board, festive glasses, or a few fun serving pieces can do most of the work without buying an entirely separate set of Halloween everything. These are the pieces I’d mix in with what I already have and pull out again year after year.

If you do want to make something, my roasted pumpkin seeds are easy and actually worth making, and the pumpkin pie martini is a very fun excuse to break out the cocktail shaker.

What To Wear

You probably won't catch me in a full Halloween costume, but a great sweater or a pair of ghost earrings? That I can commit to. I pulled together festive pieces that still feel wearable: a little orange, a great pumpkin cardigan, fun accessories, and things you can throw on for pumpkin picking, a school party, or trick-or-treating without feeling like you're wearing a costume all day.

Kids’ Costumes & Festive Finds

Okay, this is where my restraint goes completely out the window. Costumes, pajamas, little pumpkin outfits, candy bags... Halloween with kids is just more fun. I rounded up the things I genuinely think are cute, including plenty they can wear throughout October so we're getting more than one night out of them.
