August Five and Five: End of Summer Favorites

The Monthly Five And Five

August Most Loved

Another month has come and gone, which means it’s time for another Five & Five! August was a fun mix of soaking up the last days of summer and slowly starting to look ahead to fall. We talked fall wedding guest dresses, new Amazon finds, beauty favorites, and a few transitional pieces I have a feeling you’ll be seeing much more of around here.

As always, I’m rounding up the five finds you loved most this month, along with five things I can’t stop reaching for. From everyday fashion and beauty favorites to a few incredibly practical picks, these are the ten finds that earned a spot in August’s Five & Five!

Tap “SHOP HERE” below to get the details on all ten picks!

The Five You LOVED Most

(your most-clicked, most-saved, most-DM’d-about favorites)

Recommended by my colorist, and no surprise here, this shampoo and conditioner duo continues to be a favorite! My hair feels clean and soft after every wash, without ever feeling weighed down. Haircare is one of those categories where I stick with what works, and after six repurchases, this duo has officially earned a permanent spot in my shower.

You all love a matching set as much as I do! This pink striped one is cute, comfortable, and makes getting dressed ridiculously easy. Wear the pieces together for an instant outfit, or mix and match them with basics already in your closet… think leggings or a simple T-shirt. It’s one of those finds that makes you look instantly put-together with very little effort.

Fall wedding season is upon us, and you all clearly had your eye on this one! The off-the-shoulder neckline is so pretty, and I love that the dress feels special enough for an event without being overly fussy. If you have a fall wedding on your calendar, this is such a fun option to consider.

Not the most glamorous item on this list, but possibly one of the most practical! These little name labels have been so handy for keeping track of everything, especially during back-to-school season. If it leaves the house and I want it to come back, chances are I’m putting a name label on it. They hold up incredibly well in both the washing machine and dishwasher, too!

Another practical find that you all clearly appreciated! These are designed to secure furniture and help prevent tipping, and they’re one of those behind-the-scenes home items that can make a big difference. If you have small children or older adults in your home, they’re an absolute must for added safety and peace of mind.

THE FIVE I’m Loving

(aka: what’s getting worn, used, and reached for on repeat)

Apparently, August is when my brain officially switches into denim mode! I’ve been trying on new styles for fall, and these viral Rag & Bone (left side - wearing size 34) and Spanx jeans (right, wearing 1X regular) are two standouts. Both pairs fit beautifully and have me very excited to start putting together fall outfits!

Don’t forget to use CARALYN15 on your first order or when you sign up with a new email at Spanx. See more fall denim here.

These have the look of these designer sneakers, without the designer price tag! I have a feeling you’re going to be seeing them a lot this fall. They’re comfortable, easy to style, and give me that sporty look without feeling too bulky. Need a sock to wear with them? These socks are perfect for slip-on backless shoes.

This jacket is such a great transitional layer and looks far more expensive than it is. Wear it anywhere you’d normally reach for a denim jacket… it’s just as versatile and makes any outfit feel instantly polished.

I also discovered a little styling hack that makes it even better: a quick spritz of this spray helps prevent makeup from transferring onto the collar. See my tutorial here!

This spray refreshes my hair without the heavy, powdery feeling I get from some dry shampoos and helps me stretch my style a little longer between washes. Between this and my favorite shampoo and conditioner, my hair routine is in a very happy place right now, postpartum shedding aside! If that link is giving you a shipping issue, try shopping it here!

There’s something about finding the perfect lip combo that makes you want to wear it every single day—and this is mine right now! I’ve been pairing this liner (shade dusty rose) with this lipstick (shade pillow talk fair) an easy, polished everyday lip. It gives me just enough color to feel put-together without looking like a full-on statement lip.
