14 Unexpectedly Perfect Baby Gifts Every New Parent Will Love

Let’s Dig Into…

ITEMS I Loved AND Wish Were On My Registry

Whether you’re an expecting parent or have a baby shower on your upcoming schedule, I thought it’d be fun to share a few not-so-obvious baby items that have made life easier. While parenthood is an ever-evolving journey, and finding out what works for you/your child requires a lot of trial and error, here are a few of my favorite finds from over the last nine months or so. I’d be curious if you’ve heard of these and if you have any other suggestions to add to this list!

1. MAGNETIC PAJAMAS

You read that correctly. No snaps, no buttons, no zippers… MAGNETS! These are essential in the newborn days, especially with frequent diaper changes but we still wear them and they’re the best. The sizing is more generous than what it says, too. HIGHLY recommend.

2. Non-slip socks

Ever wonder where their socks go and why they always wear only one? Non-slip socks not only have grippies on the bottom but they are designed to not fall off baby’s feet with grips around the ankle, too. These are a splurge but are worth every penny. I also love these!

3. Muslin Burp Cloths

These burp cloths are multifunctional! We have one in every crevice of the house, diaper bag, car, stroller, etc., for spit-up, runny noses, and more. These are slightly larger than average and highly absorbant. They also come in a full-size blanket option!

4. Absorbant bibs

I tried A LOT of bibs, and these are elite. They are highly absorbent and wide enough to catch spit-up, drool, and when they start eating solids too. We’ve used these from newborn and are still using them.

5. MEssy Eater Stain treater

I previously shared a video about how impressive and fast-acting this stain treater is. Works on any clothing articles, baby and adult, in case your baby isn’t the only messy eater. It has gotten ALL baby-related spills and stains out. A parental must!

6. butt spatula

Because who wants to have diaper rash cream underneath your fingernails? Need I say more? Comes in a full size and a mini, perfect for diaper bags.

7. Sprayable diaper rash Cream

I’ll raise you one from the butt spatula and share the sprayable diaper rash cream. This has come into our lives only recently and has been a game changer, especially on the go.

8. wipeable changing pad

Can someone please explain to me why non-wipable changing pads even exist? We have this one at home and this less expensive one at my dad’s place in Florida, and they are comparable and make messes a breeze to clean.

9. Portable changing pad

When I don’t want to haul the entire diaper bag out and about, I love bringing this along. It fits a pack of wipes, several diapers and opens up for a portable changing pad.

10. Stroller organizer

I’ve tried several stroller attachments and this one is by far my favorite. It’s universal, so it attaches to any stroller and fits a ton, including keys, wallets, lip balm, etc.

11. Doona CAR SEAT

The Doona car seat might be one of my absolute favorite purchases. It is so convenient for daily use and has made traveling easy, as it can be buckled in without a base. It is FAA-approved, collapses down very easily, and is fairly lightweight.

12. inflatable feeding pillow

If you plan on feeding on the go, I can’t recommend this inflatable pillow enough. We started flying around 2.5 months and he would even sleep on this. It inflates in 8-9 breaths and deflates in seconds, it was a must for us.

13. Pacifier & bottle WIPES

Because everything that goes in the mouth inevitably falls on the ground, I don’t make the rules. These are great for on-the-go and great to have on hand in the diaper bag.

14. Handheld Teether

We have affectionately named these “the oven mitts.” These slide over their fists so that they can grip and chomp on them without falling off. We LOVE these!

THANKS FOR READING!

Thanks for exploring a few of my top baby picks! I hope this list was helpful. Are there any must-have items that you would add to this list? I’d love to hear them below.
