Leather Trends

While my style is pretty classic and doesn’t change too drastically year over year, I do love to pay attention to and play with trends. This year, a huge focus is in leather and faux/vegan leather moments head to toe. There are a few ways to incorporate this look into your wardrobe. Whether you’re ready to dive right in or you’d rather dip a toe, I’ve curated a few options for you!

THE DRESS / JUMPSUIT

Starting things off with a full faux leather dress moment, I was excited to find this inclusive option ranging XXS-5X. I would recommend sizing up in almost anything faux leather because I’ve noticed the fabric runs small. I kept things pretty neutral with gold jewelry, a white purse, and strappy black sandals, but you could add a pop of color to your shoes or purse. For my fellow cold weather gals, you could pair this dress with black opaque tights and leather or suede boots to bring you into the winter months.

PANTS / LEGGINGS

If a full look isn’t your jam, you could easily opt for a pair of faux leather leggings, which have arguably been in style for years and will continue to be. I love rocking my faux leather leggings. I’ve featured them quite a bunch. Be sure to check out my previous post on different ways to style faux leather leggings, as well as my personal favorite faux leather legging styles and finding the best leggings for all occasions.

Above, I’m rocking a pair of faux leather jeans (size 32R), complete with a zip up front and pockets on the bum. I styled it with a black top (XL), featuring the prettiest hint of feminine detail. It adds a nice balance with the faux leather! Here’s a similar top that I own for under $30.

OTHER WAYS TO INCORPORATE

You could also lean into the trend by adding a few accessories, like the headband I’m rocking above. You can never go wrong or out of style with a real or faux/vegan leather moto jacket. Here’s a list of my favorites and how to style them. More timeless inspiration can be found here! You’ll notice a lot more brands are leaning into the trend this year, SKIMS recently launched their faux leather line of bodysuits, tops, and pants.

A few of my favorite places to shop faux/vegan leather are Spanx (use CARALYN10), Commando, Lysse, Abercrombie, The Drop, and Levi’s. For authentic leather, I have a few pieces from Madewell (like their moto jacket), J.Crew, and Cuyana. More items that have caught my eye are below.

Thank you so much for reading! Are you into the leather trend? If so, are you willing to commit to a full look, or would you rather just work in a few smaller pieces? Would love to hear your thoughts below! xx CMK
