Home Items

We’ve been doing some serious Spring cleaning this week, so I thought it’d be fun to dig into a list of items around the house that we actually love and use frequently. Ever since we moved back in September, we’ve been figuring out what we’ve needed in our new space. I’d love to hear if you have any of these items below or have anything to add to this list.

1. Knife Block Set

We’ve only recently purchased these, but a good knife set is essential for any household. I didn’t realize how bad ours were until we replaced them. This set is super sharp and will last longer if you don’t put them in the dishwasher (our downfall with the previous set).

2. Leak-Proof Food Containers

I received a set of these for my bridal shower 4+ years ago, and we use this nonstop. We use them for leftovers, cut-up fruits and veggies, and other snacks! They have lasted a long time and hold up in the dishwasher nicely.

3. BOX CUTTER

Due to the nature of my job combined with my online shopping habit, I receive a TON of packages. I used to use a knife (from our previous knife set) which wasn’t safe by any means, so BK bought me this ceramic safety cutter, and it works like a dream!

4. Brooklinen Sheets

I never really cared about sheets until we switched to Brooklinen sheets this past fall. I’ve slowly (but surely) begun donating our other sheet sets because we only use our Brooklinen ones. CARALYN20 should still work for a discount.

5. Insulated Glass Mugs

This past summer, I donated all of our mismatched coffee mugs and started fresh with a new and cohesive set. I can’t get enough of these; after a bit of trial and error, I found this brand that is heavy duty and holds up well in the dishwasher.

6. Utility Cart

Where we park our car is pretty far from our front door at our house, so I invested in this utility cart to haul groceries in one trip (instead of 10)!

7. Collapsible Drying Rack

If you’re a part of the #ProperlyFittingBraClub, you’ve probably heard me talk about this a lot! It’s great for drying delicates (including bras, shapewear, and swimwear) and collapses flat for easy storage.

8. Step Ladder

We have some high cupboards in our new home, so I purchased this lightweight step stool, and it’s perfect for all of those hard-to-reach spots. It also folds flat, which is excellent for easy storage.

9. Salt & Pepper Grinder Set

We purchased these a few years ago and have repurchased them several times for gifts! After using these, you’ll never want to grind your salt and pepper ever again manually.

10. Nutribullet Blender

I got this just before we moved last summer as an interim blender because our old one no longer worked. It turns out this is pretty fantastic, and I haven’t missed or needed a big bulky blender mainly since I mostly use it for smoothies and homemade dressings.

11. Caraway Cookware Set

We were kindly gifted this set a few months ago, and it has far surpassed any pot and pan set that we’ve ever used. It’s pricey but has held up nicely; we hand wash them (which is super easy to wipe clean) to preserve it as much as possible.

12. Cylinder Flower Vase

Whenever I go grocery shopping, I always buy myself some fresh florals! It brings me so much happiness to see them on our table and in our living spaces. This vase is almost always in use!

13. Marble Stone Coasters

We’ve been much better about using coasters in the new house, and these are super chic; guests almost always compliment them!

14. Decorative Tray

I typically have this tray out on an ottoman and use it to pile on snacks and drinks when guests are over. It comes in many fun colors, too. I’m thinking of grabbing another for our patio.

15. All Purpose Shears

Why is it that they're always hard to find whenever you need a pair of scissors? I had a reader reach out and suggest these, and they do not disappoint. BK uses them a little too much to cut EVERYTHING from meat to herbs.

And that’s a wrap! Thank you so much for reading this post. I’d love to hear from you. What are your most loved / most used home items? Be sure to check out more home-related posts on the “home” tab of the blog. Thanks for reading! xx CMK
