Spring dresses, anyone? As I type this, I can see at least a foot of snow outside my window. A girl can dream though, right? I’ve been reading a lot of trend reports and forecasting for spring/summer fashion and it’s all about falling in love with fashion again. It’s a lot of functional but fashionable statements that anyone can work into their wardrobe. There is a big emphasis on “keyboard up” fashion that is comfortable but makes a statement and is video call friendly. Dresses and jumpsuits will forever be my favorite items to wear. It’s ONE item that you throw on and your outfit is complete! Work smarter, not harder - you feel me? As brands begin to drop their latest collections, I figured I’d share a few of my go-to places to shop dresses and my typical sizing in each. You know, in case you’re *adding to cart* too. Many of the styles above are available up to 3X/24, this one comes up to 5X!
Just as a friendly reminder for sizing reference, I am a true US size 14, wear a US 34I bra and I’m 5”8.5. I share this not to fuel a negative comparison game but to give you an idea that different brands/styles can run on different sizing charts. If you need to size up or down, it doesn’t have anything to do with you or your self worth. You’re cute as heck. So here’s to finding what makes us feel good, no matter what the tag says!

WHAT TO WEAR UNDERNEATH:
One of the reasons why I love wearing dresses / jumpsuits is because I have supportive and comfortable undergarments underneath. If you still haven’t been fitted properly for a bra or are unsure of where to start, I highly encourage you to check out this post on how to get fitted in 2021. I like to wear some sort of light shaping short (also available here) to prevent chafing and provide some moderate, comfortable support. Sometimes I’ll just wear that as my underwear, sometimes I’ll wear undies underneath. Depends on the day but either way, you do what feels good for you! Not saying you have to wear but oftentimes I’m asked so I figured I’d share. I’ll link some of my lightweight favorites below, these provide a smoothing effect but are lightweight and breathable enough to wear in warmer climates. If you have no interest in wearing a shape wear short underneath dresses, I totally understand. When I don’t need as much support, I’ll just wear a no-show, seamless brief with a little tummy support like these, these, these or these and some Megababe Thigh Rescue Anti-Chafe Stick. This stuff is magical, you can use it all over but I like to use it in between my thighs to prevent chafing. It truly changed my life a few summers ago. I know many of you have purchased and love as well!
