California Trip: Photo Diary + Outfit Roundup

oh helLo

Malibu

I recently got back from the west coast and kicked off my trip with a work retreat in Malibu. We spent the majority of our time together offline, having meaningful discussions on work/life balance, protecting our mental health, how to navigate negativity online and ways to be a better leader. We learned from each other, we related to each other... it was really good for my extroverted soul.

We stayed at the Calamingos Guest Ranch, which was FABULOUS - highly recommend. The property was so beautiful and wonderful customer service. It looks like they had other events / weddings going on but you always felt like you had the place to yourself with how spread out the ranch was. We also had the opportunity to do a yoga and meditation session, take a spiritual journaling class, have a Q&A with a Harvard-educated dermatologist and Hillary Kerr of WhoWhatWear and have an outdoor movie night. It was truly so wonderful to be able to connect with other amazing individuals in the industry.

NOW ONTO

Palm Springs

After my retreat was over, my husband (BK) and two of our closest friends flew out to LA X and met me. From there, we rented a car and drove to Palm Springs… None of us had ever been so we were excited to explore. I received A TON of recommendations on this Instagram Post.

Sadly, we didn’t make it to everything but we did really enjoy Farm for brunch, Boozehound for cocktail, Sandfish Sushi + Workshop Kitchen for dinner and Toucan’s Tiki Bar for drinks and a show. We stayed at the Renaissance Marriott which was solid, the pool and service was super nice but the rooms were a little run down and old. We really hope to go back, we LOVED the vibe of this town. On our way out of town, we stopped by the iconic Parker Hotel and had brunch at Norma’s. It was phenomenal and you really felt like you were getting the ‘vibe’ of Palm Springs, highly recommend going there and grabbing a bite / taking pics.

Last but not least

San Diego

After a quick two nights in Palm Springs, we decided to drive south to San Diego. We decided to stay at the Hotel Del Coronado and it did not disappoint. The property was truly magical! I received a bunch of San Diego recommendations on this Instagram post.

As soon as we got to the hotel, we found ourselves at this little taco stand near the beach and it was heavenly! The Del had a great pool which we camped out at for the day, you can even rent cabanas. We had dinner on property at Serea and it was honestly one of the best meals of my life, we had Marc as our waiter and he truly made the experience so special! I didn’t take pictures of the meal because it was THAT good, too busy enjoying. I also met a girlfriend for brunch at Little Frenchie’s and it was delicious. We found a Buffalo Bills’ backers bar called The Local Pacific Beach and it was SO much fun. If you’re a Bills fan and in San Diego for a game, highly recommend.
