Walter's Favorite Things
Hey friends, it’s your boy Lil Walter Harvey here, also known as LWH. I’m gracing you with my presence and taking over the blog today to share some of my favorite things. Ever since my parents rescued me in 2016, I’ve become accustomed to the finer things in life. I deserve it, don’t I? Sometimes I ask myself, “who really rescued who?” because I seem to really be doing the majority of work around here — you know, strutting my stuff all over my mom’s Instagram stories. She said it’s time to start pulling my weight (whatever that means) so in case you want to treat your furry friend like a fellow king/queen, hook them up with these goodies. Forgive any typos here, as I don’t really have thumbs.
FAQ’s: I am a purebred American Staffordshire Terrier according to this DNA test that I took a few years ago. I was rescued from Buffalo CARES by some kind people who found me in South Carolina back in 2016! My birthday is August 6th, 2014 (7.5 years old) and I weigh approximately 40 pounds (+/- a few treats).
My mom first started buying these for me back when they first adopted me, it took awhile to find a good collar brand without a bulky closure/clasp. We love this brand and I love the removable bow tie so I can dress up for holidays or hot dates, love showing the ladies I am classy as heck.
RELAXATION: Faux Fur DONUT BED (MEDIUM)
When my mom first brought this bed home, my dad was a little unsure about it but I quickly assured him it could stay. I love hiding treats, toys and other secrets in the crevices of the ring. My mom likes how it is machine washable too. 10/10 recommend.
FITNESS: HARNESS + LEASH
The best part of 2020 was how many walks I’ve gotten! This pic is from my mom’s morning routine post. I love going on my daily walks, my mom and dad use this harness, sometimes this harness when I pull a lot (sorry bout it) and we’ve been rocking this leash for awhile!
SO FRESH AND SO CLEAN: BATHTIME FAVORITES
When my parents first rescued me, they couldn’t figure out what sort of brush would be best when I take baths. My fur is somewhat short and needle-like, like many bully breeds. They use this soft silicone brush on my fur wet and dry to give me a nice massage. HOT TIP: It makes an excellent chew toy (which I thoroughly enjoyed shredding to bits) but my mom bought a new one and won’t let me chew on it anymore. Buzzkill.
To get my fur looking and smelling fresh, my mom uses this Dog Shampoo and Conditioner Duo.
GOOD EATS: FOOD OF CHOICE
My mom recently switched my food to Nutro and it’s pretty tasty, if I say so myself. My tummy is a little sensitive so the first ingredients being chicken and rice make this an A+ choice.
DINNERWEAR: FLUFF TROUGH FEEDER + YETI WATER BOWL
We recently discovered Fluff Trough pet feeder a few months ago and it’s been a game changer, no longer have to bend over to eat - truly living the life of luxury over here. I also have this Yeti bowl for water which makes me feel fancy and outdoorsy, all in the same sip.
PLAYTIME
I love to destroy stuffed toys, some may even call me an aggressive chewer. It’s one of my specialities. However, I do love a challenge so I enjoy attempting to destroy my Bullymake Box subscription, Benebone and Kong toys!
