5 Things I'm Loving Lately

Life has certainly been different lately but it’s slowly becoming a new version of normal. I’ve been doing my best to focus on the good things and what I’m grateful for most, especially on Monday’s. It’s always helpful for me to write things down so I thought it’d be fun to share five random things that I’ve been loving and have been bringing me joy - especially lately! Maybe it’ll encourage you to think of a few things too.

Florals

Not sure what it is about fresh flowers, but they are an instant mood boost. I’ve actually noticed myself feeling pretty bummed when our grocery store doesn’t have any florals in stock - an odd but stark reminder that things are not as they were. However, I’ve been ordering myself bouquets online (supporting local businesses too) but also recently discovered Afloral for silk flowers for the weeks I can’t get to the store. If you struggle with keeping things alive, they may be a good option!

Equilibria CBD

I’ve officially been taking CBD for over a year now, I shared my reasoning and a few frequently asked questions here in case you missed it! I’ve been taking Equilibria since late 2019 and I’m continually impressed by their commitment to education and it’s a brand I’m proud to align with. I love all of their products, I’ve been taking the droppers and capsules consistently. I find it helps keep me calm and my anxiety under control during this wild time. In case you’re curious, highly suggest you checking out my blog post and/or scheduling an appointment with a dosage expert to see what would be good for you! I personally think the boxes are the best way for you to try everything out at a better value. If you decide to purchase, you can use “caralynmirand” for 15% off.

Yeti Mugs

This may sound a little silly but hear me out here! I’ve always been a fan of my Yeti mugs / cups but I’ve been using at least one every day. They are definitely a little bit of a splurge but if you think about in terms of cost per use, I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth. I use this mug or this mug in the morning for my coffee (stays warm even when I forget about it on the counter for a few hours) and this tumbler with a straw to keep up my daily water intake. I’ll also use this one to keep cocktails cold (I can’t stand a lukewarm drink). I love the classic colors but the bright ones are also fun! Just a little luxury that has been bringing me lots of joy.

Experimenting with cocktail recipes

I’ve always enjoyed a good specialty cocktail but I’ve never really made any at home! Quarantine has ignited a passion in creating my own versions of “quarantinis” and not to toot my own horn, but I’ve gotten pretty good (toot toot). A few of my specialties include Bloody Mary’s, extra dirty martinis, espresso martinis, grapefruit margaritas and lately we’ve been experimenting with Blue Chair Bay rum (our fav). BK and I will be sharing our favorites soon! But in case you missed it, here are a few of my favorite recipes.

Home inspiration

You may have heard I’ve recently re-vamped my Pinterest account! Would LOVE to have you follow me over there if you haven’t already. With over 17 trips cancelled due to COVID-19, I’ve found myself at home and noticing things I haven’t before, wondering if we can make our small space more functional. I am no design expert but BK and I caught the home improvement bug. We started with our bedroom (reveal coming soon), our two other bedrooms and our backyard! We’ve been spending lots of time on Pinterest, getting ideas and budget friendly inspo to make the most of our time at home right now. A few budget friendly sites I’ve been loving lately for the home are Wayfair, Target, World Market and Overstock.

I hope you enjoyed a few of my favorite things! Would love to hear a few things you’re enjoying lately! Here’s to a great week. xx CMK
