What's On My Desk: Work From Home Essentials

At the start of lockdown, BK and I weren’t used to working from home together. At that point, I was traveling so much that I didn’t have the time or real need to establish a home office for myself. But once we realized this was a more longterm scenario, we decided the kitchen table was not an ample workspace for me. BK has since joined “team CMK” and it made the most sense to re-do our spare bedroom into a more collaborative workspace. We currently have two desks in our extra bedroom which doubles as Brian’s “getting ready” space. It’s small but it works, for now! Here’s whats on my desk and in my workspace, you can click the photos to shop the items directly.

3 working from home tips i stand by:

Designate a workspace: this has really helped me with managing somewhat of a work-life balance. It’s become really important for me to designate a work zone within our home so I can get up, go to work and then relax and eat in other spots. When I’m at my desk, I’m much more focused and ready to work.

Have a morning routine: Before I sit down for the day, I do my entire morning routine. This has been crucial for my mental health and taking care of myself. I have to get my workouts in before I sit down for the day, otherwise I’ll never do it. Everyone’s situation might look a little different but I encourage you to take some time for yourself in the morning before diving into work / emails / social media.

Get dressed: This may sound silly but showering, getting dressed and sometimes applying makeup really boosts my mood. I find myself feeling much more confident and focused when I put an outfit on, even if it’s leggings and a sweater! For some more work from home outfit ideas, check out this post!
